Terms of Service

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Parents or guardians may create accounts on behalf of minor students.

User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate information during registration.

For Students & Parents

Posting a tutoring request is free. We match you with verified tutors based on your requirements. HK Tutor Link acts as a matching platform — we do not employ tutors directly. Lessons are arranged directly between you and the matched tutor.

For Tutors

• Registration is free. Your profile must be approved by our team before you can receive matches.
• Upon a successful match, tutors are required to pay a commission fee as agreed. Commission details are communicated during the matching process.
• You must provide accurate information about your qualifications, experience, and availability. Misrepresentation may result in account suspension.

Matching & Commissions

HK Tutor Link provides tutor matching services. We do not guarantee specific outcomes from tutoring sessions. Commission payments are due as outlined in the match agreement.

Intellectual Property

All content on HK Tutor Link, including the platform design, logos, and text, is owned by HK Tutor Link and protected by intellectual property laws. Users retain ownership of content they submit (reviews, profile information, blog posts).

Prohibited Conduct

You may not: use the platform for any unlawful purpose; impersonate another person; submit false or misleading information; attempt to circumvent the platform to avoid commission fees; harass other users; or interfere with the platform's operation.

Limitation of Liability

HK Tutor Link is a matching platform and is not responsible for the quality of tutoring services provided. We are not liable for any disputes between tutors and students. Our total liability shall not exceed the fees paid to us in the preceding 12 months.

Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong.

Disclaimer of Warranties

HK Tutor Link is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless HK Tutor Link, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your use of the platform, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

Dispute Resolution

In the event of any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the platform, both parties agree to first attempt resolution through good-faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved within 30 days, either party may pursue mediation administered by the Hong Kong Mediation Centre before resorting to court proceedings.

Payment & Refund Policy

Commission fees are due upon successful matching as outlined in the match agreement. Once a match is confirmed and contact information has been exchanged, commission fees are non-refundable. If a match does not proceed due to circumstances beyond the tutor's control, a partial or full refund may be considered at HK Tutor Link's sole discretion.

User Content

By submitting content to HK Tutor Link (including reviews, profile information, and blog posts), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute such content on our platform for the purpose of operating and promoting our services. You retain ownership of your content and may request its removal at any time.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and HK Tutor Link regarding your use of the platform and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications.

Force Majeure

HK Tutor Link shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government actions, pandemics, internet or telecommunications failures, cyberattacks, or other unforeseen circumstances.
